I'm trying to raise money to start my own internet radio station, for just power metal (and related genres). Curious how many of you would love to donate to this cause just out of the kindness of their hearts (and of course to hear some kickass power metal jams that aren't Dragonforce). Well, and I guess I've deserved a dollar or two for entertaining so many people and risking life, limb and liver for your entertainment!

Bah, if not, I'm selling pieces of my own hand-drawn personal artwork and writings for pretty cheap (signed as well of course), as well as various movies, CD's, etc. that I'll be digging through tonight and posting later.

As for the station, I'm flipping through name ideas, but I've got a pretty massive list of bands to play, from bands as obscure as Stride(RIP) to........ well, I plan on using it to really promote up and coming power metal bands and some of the classics, so don't expect lots of Edguy or Dragonforce. More like Vhaldemar and Derdian!

In other news, I'm back in the promotions game, and promoting Aquaria over the summer. If you want a 4 song sampler, feel free to email me at geistimsturm@gmail.com, or just simply YouTube them, or of course MySpace them. Fucking amazing band!!!!! Epic as hell, but incredibly heartfelt and with a heavy lyrical emphasis on nature and beauty. And they mix exotic Brazilian music in with the power metal and classical elements, to boot!

It's a dark day and age, which is why we need power metal more than ever.

I think a lot of people are struggling so much they cant donate. i know i'm one of those people. high gas prices, the fact that a fucking loaf of bread (at least in my area) costs $5 fucking dollars now. ect. its totally lame. BOOOO!

Hence why I try to make it worthwhile! Beautiful, one of a kind pieces of art for the price of what Ramen is probably going to cost soon.

Bah, worse comes to worse, I'll hit downtown and sell some pieces on my own. But listening and support (including checking out the Aquaria link) is always appreciated!

Also, another reason I live in the big city! Always great bargains to be found, esp. on food and electronics. Rural areas are going to be hit the hardest by the food costs and sloping economy, as it always does.

Only thing I've stepped down on recently is I went from drinking Seagram's to drinking Magnum (cheap 40 oz. of beer), but then again, hey, if you're gonna get wasted, might as well do it cheaply but tastefully as possible.

haha yeah thankfully Im in seattle so our prices arent aweful on everything. i like about 20 minutes outside of seattle. and although i could make special trips for bread since we have orowheat outlets in the area its sort of a pain. I like the idea of one stop shopping cause i really despise the necessity that is grocery shopping. it would be such a pain to drive 20 minutes to somewhere i have no other reason to go just to get bread for like $1-2 cheaper. hell i'd probably waste that much in gas getting there. lol.

Best places I've found to shop is the Mexican grocery stores. At the one I used to go to up north, you could get 3 lbs. of chicken for about $5, and a pound of oranges for $1,50.

Sucks to hear that the station is up and coming bands, I'd prefer to hear the well known stuff, but I can just go to Last.fm for all of that.

And we really need more power metal. We need a huge shake-up in that area.

Well, seeing alot of the big PM bands are doing rather well, I want to show the new vanguard a bit. And trust me, the mainstream power metal like Dragonforce and Sonata Artica simply can't hope to musically outdo something like Angel Dust and Powerworld.

I might slip in some of the bigger stuff here and there, but it definitely won't be a common thing.

Definite! Everyone's getting down about everything from rising food and gas prices to just being more and more confined in society, and power metal is a release no one can take away from you. People need to lift their heads up for once!
